How Carol Vanlandingham's website collects, uses and protects the information you share, including forms, texts, email updates and how to ask for deletion.
What this site collects
This website belongs to Carol Vanlandingham, a REALTOR® with eXp Realty, doing business as Homes by Carol. When you fill out a form on this site, I collect what you choose to give me: your first and last name, your email address, your phone number if you add it, any message you write, and your answers to any extra questions that form asks. If a form asks about a home or a move, your answers help me understand what you need.
If you give a phone number, the site also records whether you agreed to receive text messages, the exact consent wording you saw, and the date and time you agreed.
Beyond what you type into a form, the site doesn't collect personal information about you. Like nearly every website, the company that hosts it keeps standard technical logs, such as the time of a visit and the page requested, to keep the site running and secure. This site doesn't use advertising trackers or analytics tools that follow you around the internet. Your browser may remember whether you chose light or dark mode, and that setting stays on your own device.
Who receives it
Information you submit goes to me so I can follow up with you. This site is hosted by Vercel, which processes it on my behalf as part of running the site.
Form submissions are saved in GoHighLevel, the contact system I use to keep track of the people I work with and to send follow-up. GoHighLevel stores and processes that information on my behalf.
Some pages show my videos from YouTube and a map from Google Maps. The videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and don't load from YouTube until you press play. Once you play a video or view a map, YouTube or Google may collect information under Google's Privacy Policy.
I'm affiliated with eXp Realty, LLC. If we work together on a transaction, information may also be handled through my brokerage under its own policy, which you can read here: eXp Realty / AGNT, Inc. Privacy Policy.
I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
How it is used
I use your information to answer your question, to help you buy or sell a home, and to stay in touch about real estate in Erie, Boulder County and Northern Colorado.
If you fill out a form, I may send you market updates and my newsletter. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also tell me directly that you'd like to stop. Unsubscribing from email doesn't stop me from answering a question you send me.
I keep your information until you ask me to delete it. You can ask at any time, using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
Calls and text messages
I only send text messages to a phone number when you've agreed to receive them on a form, and the site keeps a record of that agreement. Message and data rates may apply, and how often I text depends on what we're working on together.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, or contact me directly. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of working with me or of getting an answer to your question.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to tell you what information I have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can unsubscribe from email updates using the link in any email, and stop texts by replying STOP.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because this site doesn't use tracking that follows you across other websites, that setting doesn't change how this site works.
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If this policy changes, I'll update it on this page and change the date below.
